Free 4th Annual Leimert Park Village African Art & Music Festival
The Leimert Park Group, (Sika, Amaechina & Juan), present The 4th Annual African Art & Music Festival in Historic Leimert Park Village. This is a FREE 3-day event, featuring jazz, blues, Afro-beat, reggae, spoken word, comedy, traditional African drumming and dance.
Our 3-day audience is around 10,000 people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds that come from the greater Southern California area and beyond. Everyone is welcome!
In addition to our first-class music, we will present 5 signature events, a Spoken Word Showcase, (each day); a Comedy Showcase (each day); a Fashion Show (Sunday); our 2nd Annual "Raw 2 the Roots" Natural Hair Styling Showcase, (Monday); and "Sankofa Sunday", (Sunday), where we remember those that have transitioned in the past year.
This year, we are offering 40 seats in our VIP Hospitality Suite. Of course, you can attend the event for FREE, however, you can help to support the festival by purchasing a seat and get these great benefits:
a. A seat in a reserved area next to the stage at a beautiful linen-draped round table that seats 6 and is shaded by a large market umbrella.
b. A nourishing, and filling lunch, that includes a salad, bread, side dish, entree and dessert will be freshly prepared on-site by our caterer.
c. Complimentary snacks, water and other non-alcoholic beverages will be available throughout the day.
d. An Official Festival Poster signed by our Featured Fine Artist.
e. Meet and Greet the artists in the Back Stage area.
f. Access to the VIP restroom.
Previous performers have included: Randy Crawford, LTD, Barbara Morrison, Azar Lawrence, Najite (Fela's Godson), Medusa (The Gangster Goddess of Hip Hop), Balle Fette bu Senegal, Wadada, Wali Ali & many more. Each year, we have over 15 musical acts and performances on our main stage.

Our authentic AFRICAN MARKETPLACE features exquisite fine arts and quality crafts from over 50 vendors selling original and unique art, jewelry, clothing, hats, purses, shoes, bath and body products and everything else imaginable.
Our FOOD COURT provides a variety of food choices for every palate, including raw, vegan, vegetarian, Caribbean, traditional & more. And, of course, we offer snack foods, beverages and desserts you won't be able to resist.
This is a family-friendly event, with activities for children, teens & adults. We are Metro accessible, conveniently located near the 10, 110 and 405 freeways, and have ample street and metered lot parking.
