ALIEN (1979) Screening - Save the Brit Archivist Fundraiser
SATURDAY 28TH JULY DOORS 3PM - FILM 3.30PM $5 ADVANCE - $7 DOOR (Includes free entry into prize giveaway!) NORTHWEST FILM FORUM
Save the Brit Archivist presents with help from Scarecrow Video, EMP Museum, Northwest Film Forum and Bayou 'Booch, a screening of the 1979 chiller classic:
"ALIEN" 1979, USA, 117 mins, DVD. Director: Ridley Scott Starring: Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, John Hurt, Ian Holm, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, Jonesy the cat.
What with the riot-inciting, teeth-gritting, alopecia inducing mythology disruption of the recent PROMETHEUS, let's just settle down and rest our tootsies from the slippery soap box ("No that's obviously NOT the original Xenomorph, it's an ancestor...NO, NO it IS, you can tell by that massive bulge it is definitely the first Queen...I disagree, that was clearly its food baby...etc.) Come and relive where it all started with arguably the finest Alien film of the franchise.
// FREE POPCORN! // GIVEAWAY PRIZES INCLUDE: EMP Museum Family Membership, a copy of "Alien", Scarecrow Video goodies, a one-hour massage, and an Acupuncture treatment courtesy of the Poulsbo Acupuncture & Wellness Center. // FANTASTIC SNACKERY FOR ALL PALATES //"FACEHUGGER" KOMBUCHA (Scoby mother on site to produce more 'bucha and generally get irritated if you try and touch her or incinerate her eggs with a flame thrower.)
All proceeds will support the continued work of British archivist Gem Seddon in her project at the Northwest Film Forum's Film Vault. Over 1000 film reels housed in the Northwest Film Forum's archive are home to countless stories of the Northwest and the nation's collective heritage. From the educational to the personal, from documentary to home movie, they all contribute to moving image history. The archive requires professional assistance to maintain its upkeep, and as a British librarian working in the U.S., for me to continue with this project I've visa finances and cost of living expenses which can only be acquired through my film archive internship at the Northwest Film Forum.
Thank you for your support, see you at the show!
