The Doula Project Zine Launch Party
The highly anticipated zine providing support for pregnant people accessing abortion arrives this November. To celebrate the release, join The Doula Project for a night of music, food and self-care at Arlene's Grocery hosted by Giulia Rozzi, one of BUST magazine's "10 Funny Ladies You Need to be Watching Right Now" and featuring performances from 2Frail, The Reverse Engineers, and Ex-Girlfriends. The performances begin at 8 pm.

We'll have Happy Hour Specials (from 7-8 pm), free mac & cheese from S'MAC, doughnuts from DOUGH, and self-care tattoos (from 7-8 pm), and you can enter the raffle to win great prizes, like magazine subscriptions, a Meal Pal membership and VIP "Maximilian's Guest" tickets to Sleep No More at The McKittrick Hotel.

In keeping with The Doula Project's commitment to accessibility, the full 48-page Zine will be distributed free in print and online thanks to generous donors. You can get your own copy at the event for a sliding scale price of $8, full price $12.

This zine was created by doulas, doula leadership, board members, and alumni doulas who have volunteered supporting people through their procedures in clinics and hospitals across NYC.

Your ticket price raises money to support the ongoing work of NYC's The Doula Project, www.doulaproject.org, as well as to distribute the zine and its valuable resources beyond New York City. A raffle at the release party will also benefit The Doula Project's work. Check back for details on items!

Arlene's Grocery has step-free access into the venue and step-free access to a gender neutral restroom. Alcohol will be served.

THE DOULA PROJECT is a volunteer-run New York City-based 501(c)3 charitable organization that provides free compassionate care and emotional, physical, and informational support to people across the spectrum of pregnancy. Since its founding in 2007, The Doula Project doulas have supported hundreds of birth clients and over ten thousand people through abortion and fetal loss.

DIY Doula: Self-Care for Before, During and After Your Abortion was edited by Mick Moran. This project received a Seed Support grant from the Abortion Conversation Project to reduce abortion stigma.
