Joseph Keckler at Pangea - Encore Performance
Singer of "Larynx-defying range" (New York Times) presents an intimate evening of his work. Infused with humor and longing, Keckler's material includes operatic renderings of contemporary life and haunted torch songs. He will be joined by collaborator Dan Bartfield on violin.
Joseph Keckler is a singer, musician, and writer. He is currently the Witt Artist in Residence at The University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design, where he has begun a new durational performance piece of death scenes,"Let Me Die". He recently made his off-broadway debut as Chaliapin in Dave Malloy's "Preludes" at Lincoln Center Theater. In the past Keckler's work has been featured on BBC America and WNYC Soundcheck and his piece "I am an Opera" was commissioned by Dixon Place. In 2013 The Village Voice named him "Best Downtown Performance Artist." Other awards and residencies: Creative Capital, NYFA Fellow, Franklin Furnace, Yaddo, MacDowell. He is currently working on a new album and a collection of essays.

Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS PROMPTLY AT 6:30PM.
Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner. No food orders will be taken after the show starts, as a courtesy to the performers.
