RECONCILIATION
Susanne Mack is pleased to return to Pangea with her new show RECONCILIATION, a deeply personal story, told in song, about wrestling with a family secret while growing up in a small town in Germany. Like a character in a Grimm's fairy tale, Susanne embarks upon a journey and learns through its twists and turns that the seemingly simple habit of keeping secrets creates a veil over life's greatest fulfillment. From complicity to questioning, from discovery to recovery, Macks musical journey reveals that the truth can indeed set you free.
RECONCILIATION blends personal storytelling with a wide range of music, including songs by German composer Hanns Eisler juxtaposed with great songs from musical theatre and the Great American Songbook. Musical director Tracy Stark will also play the piano. John Di Pinto will play the accordion.
Susanne Mack is a German-born cabaret singer who has been living in New York for almost a decade. RECONCILIATION is her third show at Pangea. Storytelling is a central element in in all of of Susanne's shows. Her narratives often reflect upon the challenges and changes that she experienced while growing up in Europe, and share the discoveries of a life lived between two worlds - Europe and America. Mack's shows are moving and heartfelt, leavened with wit and moments of joy. And in spite of their dark realism, Mack's performances are always emotionally satisfying and truly romantic.
