On Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:30am

Danny Clay - "The Elephant's Child" & "The Sing-song of Old Man Kangaroo"

Doors open at 10am

The performance lasts approximately 45 minutes, and is suitable for all ages. There will also be a petting zoo of the instruments immediately after the performance.

PROGRAM
The fun family-friendly program will feature works for a chamber ensemble and narrator, and will be a setting of Rudyard Kipling's tales of animal origins, the "Just So Stories". With 6 instrumental performers (instruments include violin, cello,  flute, clarinet, didgeridoo, and piano) and a narrator, "Just So Stories" will feature each instrument taking a different animal or character in the stories, allowing children in the audience to follow the plot and understand the special sounds and nuances of each instrument.

The organization presents an annual summer festival in Trinity County, and regular seasonal events across California. Since its inception, this organization has presented over 60 public concerts and 25 educational programs at summer camps, schools, and public venues. It has had an evolving roster of almost 50 professional musicians to date, who hail from across the US and Europe.

Composer Danny Clay has an impressive history of working with children, and his compositions have attracted numerous awards and performances by world-renowned groups.

Stephen Kent
As a globally acclaimed player of the ancient Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo, San Francisco based multi-instrumentalist/composer Stephen Kent has pioneered its use in contemporary music across the globe for over 3 decades. As a solo performer he is a virtual one-man-band, producing an extraordinary layering of sounds and grooves and creating an almost orchestral ambience with this primal instrument, accompanying himself on all kinds of shakers and hand percussion on musical journeys that travel deep into the heart of the earth. A dynamic performer and storyteller to boot he revels in inviting the audience in on the journey.  www.stephenkent.net
