Steven Dibner presented by Noe Valley Chamber Music
On Sunday March 19, 2017, at 4pm, NVCM welcomes bassoonist Steven Dibner in a program titled "The Winds of Change." This concert will feature the dynamic clarinetist Carey Bell and prominent woodwind artists from the San Francisco Symphony in solos and ensembles with the magnificent Robin Sutherland at the keyboard. We conclude with a delightful sextet for piano and winds!

The performance lasts approximately 2 hours, including a short intermission with wine and cheese. Audience members have the chance to mingle with the performers immediately following the performance.
Program: Works by Stravinsky, Debussy, Poulenc, Britten, Nielsen, Saint-Saens, and more
TICKETS are $15-30, FREE for children 12 and under. ($30 at the door; with a discount for students, seniors and advance purchases.)

Steven Dibner is a native of Michigan and began his career as a violinist, actor and singer. He began serious study of the bassoon with Leonard Sharrow at Indiana University, where he attained degrees in music, French/Italian and a Performer's Certificate, and with Stephen Maxym at The Juilliard School, obtaining an M.M. Dibner served as principal bassoonist of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra from 1978 to 1983, during which time he maintained a busy freelance career performing with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the New York Chamber Soloists and Parnassus. He has regularly appeared as a bassoon soloist and chamber musician with San Diego's Mainly Mozart Festival, as well as the San Francisco Symphony. He has performed chamber music at leading festivals around the world, including those of Salzburg, Lucerne, Spoleto, Marlboro, Mostly Mozart (NYC), Caramoor and Aspen. Dibner also presents solo appearances for sick and disadvantaged people in the San Francisco Bay Area through the organization Bread and Roses.

Noe Valley Chamber Music (NVCM) has been presenting superb chamber music to audiences in Noe Valley since 1992. NVCM ticket holders have an opportunity to hear and meet the Bay Area's finest musicians, ensembles, and vocalists in the authentic yet informal chamber music tradition. This concert series allows both established and emerging local artists to develop audiences for their work, and to perform new, old or unusual repertoire in an intimate setting.
