Kiez Oper - open air opera at Salon - Zur wilden Renate
Kiez Oper is on a mission to bring opera bang up to date, dragging it into the 21st century. Performing in unexpected venues to uninitiated audiences.
High quality, high drama, high art. For everyone, particularly people who would never normally see opera up close.
Our first show(s) will be this two night run on the 20th and 21st July in the garden of Salon - Zur wilden Renate.
The main parts will be performed by members of the prestigious International Studio at the Berlin Staatsoper! Backed by a full Baroque ensemble and staged by one of Britain's most exciting young directors who is the founder of Vignette Productions.
The audience will experience an hour long performance of Dido & Aeneas (by English baroque composer Henry Purcell) with a new twist in not just the location, price and crowd but also the piece itself. It is going to be post-apolocalyptic, drug addled, untraditional and crazy. You won't just be watching an opera on a stage there will be people coming at you from all angles and in all parts of the space!
All this for the normal entry fee for Renate (10)! Doors are at 20:00, the show starts at 22:00, from there stay as long as you want and party at one of the best clubs in Berlin.
