The Bumper Jacksons wsg Bryan Brundige and The Piggly Wigglies
The BUMPER JACKSONS are on a roll. Folding sounds of jazz, early blues, old-time music, and country swing into an exhilarating repertoire of modern American roots music, the DC-based band has brought a hard-driving party energy to countless dance floors. With three recent Washington Area Music Awards and many dozens of jubilant live shows under their collective belt, theyve produced their second album,TOO BIG WORLD, a sweetly balanced collection of hot swing numbers, heart-break ballads, and late-night moonshine foot-stompers.
Bryan Brundige and The Piggly Wigglies formed in 2015 with the mission of getting peoples' feet movin' and groovin'. The band touches upon classics and not-so classics from the early 1900s to the 1940s. The Piggly Wigglies primarily focus on the swing dance community and have played several Lindy and Blues events alike. They have collectively played dances in Boston, Kingston, Albany, Rochester, and Montreal. The group plays vocally-driven swing and blues, with a focus on vocal harmonies, which are reminiscent of the Mills Brothers, the Andrews Sisters, Louis Jordan, Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong and Hoagy Carmichael.
