Event
Double Bill: 30 Cecil Street and The Night Flyer
Running time: 75 mins
An evening double bill of two short pieces that have been crucial to making Forest Fringe what it is today.
30 Cecil Street - Dan Canham
The final show ever performed at Forest Fringe's old home at Bristo Place in 2011, a delicate and heartbreaking elegy for a lost and ruined theatre, 30 Cecil Street is an original piece of dance-theatre from Dan Canham of Still House (Of Riders & Running Horses, Ours Was the Fen Country). A performance of fragments of memories, of wild nights and long-disappeared communities, it evokes the life of a once-mighty building and asks what is left when a theatre closes its doors to the public? The Nightflyer - Paper Cinema
The Night Flyer, an original creation first presented at Forest Fringe, sees a boy crossing the night in a mysterious train to find a lost girl.
The company uses the language of animation, music, film and theatre to lead the viewer through a variety of stories. Intricate pen and ink illustrations are manipulated in front of a video camera and projected in real-time onto the big screen alongside the live music, which is integral to the work.
*These performances will be held in the Main Space
