Big Bottles and Shared Plates with Chef Andrew Gerson of Brooklyn Brewery and The Draft Horse
Food has been closely linked to the Brooklyn Brewery from the beginning. Be it a beer dinner, a cook-off, or a perfectly paired cheese plate, the ethos of these happenings has consistently mirrored the consideration and creativity behind the making of the Brewerys beer. Brooklyn Brewery Head of Culinary Programming Chef Andrew Gerson came to our table from Antica Pesa Williamsburg, in 2013 with over ten years of culinary experience as a cook, educator and activist. He now travels the globe with our Mash tour, collaborating with local chefs.
Chef Gerson will be collaborating with Chef Luke Kyle of The Draft Horse for a 6 course dinner paired with some of Brooklyn Brewery's most intriguing beers.
Our menu for the evening includes: First Course Red Table Charcuterie with Brooklyn Bel Air
Second Course Vietnamese-style lake trout with Brooklyn Sorachi Ace
Third Course Roasted summer vegetables with Galahad, a Brooklyn Ghost Bottle
Fourth Course Dry aged beef tartare, asparagus emulsion, and pickled rhubarb with Brooklyn Discreet Charm of the Framboisie, A Brooklyn Quarterly Experiment
Fifth Course Braised Lamb Shank, seared asparagus, cabbage slaw, and mint sauce with K Is for Kriek, a Brooklyn Quarterly Experiment
Dessert Cheesecake with rosemary honey with Intensified Coffee Porter, a Brooklyn Quarterly Experiment
