Raíces y Alas
Flamenco Chicago Studio's 17th semi-annual studio showcase, with more than 30 emerging dancers performing traditional and contemporary flamenco choreographies by artistic director Rosetta Magdalen. This showcase includes the premiere of The Tango Project, a collaborative choreography between Flamenco Chicago and Jorge Niedas' Tango 21.
Two shows:
> 8pm on Saturday, July 7
> 3pm on Sunday, July 8 (the Sunday show features live cuadro second act, with guitarists Humberto Carrizales, Michael Cuchna, and Thomas Kimball, company dancers and Flamenco Chicago students Stephanie Johnson and Daria Shor, Ensemble Español company dancer Sean Arana, Rosetta Magdalen, and special guest Russian vocalist Tanya Melamed)
Both shows feature maestro Jorge Niedas, his partner Liz Sung, and dancers from the Tango 21 company.
