We are very pleased to be partnering with Portland Beer Week to present a very special dinner! Breakside Head Brewer Ben Edmunds, Ballast Point Brewing's Barrel Master Steve Anderson and Fremont Brewing's Head Brewer James McDermet will all be in attendance as we pair six of their delicious brews with an indulgent southern supper. All courses and beers will be served family style, so come ready to tuck in and make some new friends.
Menu is subject to change based on farm & brewery availability, but here's the plan:
- Mae relish tray: pickled ramp pimento cheese, diva cucumber benedictine cheese, farmers market pickles, fluffy angel biscuits - Little gem lettuces with sungold tomato ranch, pickled onion, crispy country ham & sumac toasted pecans (Pairings: Ballast Point Ginger Big Eye IPA & Grapefruit Sculpin)
- Killed baby mustard greens with pickled rhubarb, spring onion, buttermilk & Allan Benton's smoky Tennesee bacon - Carolina Gold risotto with morels, ramps & shelling peas (Pairing: Fremont Brewing summer ale)
- Buttermilk brined chicken, skillet fried in a mixture of bacon fat, chicken fat, & lard - Pimento mac & cheese - Soup beans & Cornbread - Sea Island Red Peas cooked with ham hock, then baked with cornbread dumplings & finished with barrel aged hot sauce & summer savory - Roasted zucchini with black garlic vinaigrette, summer herbs & tomato cornmeal gravy (Pairings: Breakside Belly Laugh & Rhinoceros Party)
- Brown sugar pound cake studded with bourbon barrel smoked cocoa nibs, macerated strawberries, buttermilk vanilla whipped cream (Pairing: Fremont Brewing Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb)
