Jean Rohe is a celebrated and visionary multi-lingual singer & composer, mixing jazz, folk, and global music traditions on narrative songs that range from fantastical riffs on old folktales to singer-songwriter sojourns. "A sure-footed young singer-songwriter," in the words of The New York Times, she appears regularly on New York Public Radio, and has toured her projects throughout the U.S. and as far as Havana's Teatro Nacional. Her compelling, genre-bending ensemble, Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show, creates a luscious soundscape that sounds like a love song for a world in peril.
The super group of fiddler Brittany Haas (Crooked Still), bassist Paul Kowert (Punch Brothers), and guitarist Jordan Tice (Tony Trischka) is comprised of three of the acoustic music world's finest young intrumentalists. Entirely instrumental, their debut album, "you got this," takes advantage of their bursting-at-the-seams musical toolkit. The album melds alternate banjo tunings, Norwegian dance tunes, hard-rocking folk rhythms, Debussy-like string arrangements, deep growling bass, pastoral guitar, and ducking & weaving fiddle. Their top-flight musicianship and passionate expression will have you on the edge of your seat.
