Promises You Break
Come and see a sneak peek of "Promises You Break" - a new show devised by Girl Be Heard, featuring Noura Boustany-Jost, Larissa Jeanniton, Ashley Marinaccio and Jamie Saunders. This show is directed and choreographed by Ian Stewart.
Girl Be Heard, a New York-based girl-led social justice theatre company, returns to Portland, Oregon to partner with Rogue Pack after a sold-out performance in 2014 to perform an original piece at the Sellwood Playhouse about LGBTQ youth, mental health and homelessness. Girl Be Heard has been staging the revolution both locally and internationally since 2008 and is thrilled to continue to perform with the girls from Boys & Girls Aid in "Promises You Break.
Rogue Pack, a nonprofit theatre located in Sellwood facilitates storytelling theatre workshops for Portland area youth. Girls from Boys & Girls Aid will join Girl Be Heard on stage performing their own stories about life in the foster care system. There will be a talkback afterwards, with the entire cast so that the audience can ask questions and process new information. Boys & Girls Aid will also be there to give out information and answer questions about foster care and adoption. Join us for a reception after the talkback.
