Topsy-Turvy, the Bay Areas first queer circus, soars to new heights with its 4th annual production PARADISE. Told through stunning aerial and acrobatic performances and narrated by queen chanteuse Honey Mahogany (RuPauls Drag Race), PARADISE follows an angel after she falls from a pole that connects heaven to earth. This ethereal seraph must defy gravity and navigate a world of demigods and mysticism on her quest to return home.
PARADISE is conceived and directed by India Sky Davis and ushers in a new, queer Black Mythology. Davis, alongside aerial artist Marshall Jarreau (Cirque du Soleil) and Essence magazine featured aerialist Kiebpoli Calnek, lead a local cast of queer and trans* performers of color in this provocative physical theater production.
Topsy-Turvys production of PARADISE is generously supported by the San Francisco Arts Commission, Horizons Foundation, California Arts Council, Queer Cultural Center, and Brava Theater.
