The Paint It Pink Gala
Are you ready to paint the town pink?! The benefit will be a night of drinking and dancing, with a raffle and silent auction. We'll be rolling out the pink carpet and encourage everyone to wear pink. It will be a night that you won't want to miss!
On October 25th, 2012, we will be hosting the 2nd annual Paint it Pink Gala in honor of a young girl named Kim Sibbach. Kim was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in August of 2008, at the age of 23 with no prior family history of breast cancer. The benefit will be a pink night of fun and fundraising at The Stockroom at 230, at 230 Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.
Kim fought hard for almost three years, and her positive attitude has inspired many. Sadly, on April 28, 2011, Kim lost her fight with breast cancer. While she may be gone, she is not forgotten, as we come together to continue the fight to find cure for breast cancer.
All proceeds will be donated to 1in9, a breast cancer charity that works closely with UNCs Comprehensive Cancer Center to help women who are currently in treatment but lack the means necessary to continue it. Whether it's transportation, food, or lodging while they are at UNC...1in9 gives these women the support group that they don't have but desperately need. If there was one thing that Kim was always in awe of, it was the amount of support she had from her church, her friends, her family. We want to pass that on to others.
