Can't Stop the Serenity 2016 presented by the Browncoats of NYC
The Browncoats of New York City announce the 11th annual Cant Stop the Serenity (CSTS) fundraiser taking place Saturday June 18, 2016 at Slatterys Midtown Pub in Midtown Manhattan. CSTS is a fan-run global fundraising event that has raised over $1 million for charity since its inception. The event will feature dinner, charity auctions of memorabilia and autographs, a screening of the film Serenity (2005) and more.
The event starts at 2pm and will include a fun afternoon and evening celebrating the fan-driven phenomenon that is Joss Whedons Serenity. Fans young and old are welcome to join in the fun, meet new people, see old friends and have fun! Attendees will have the option to participate in various raffles and auctions to win a wide variety of items themed around the show Firefly and its unforgettable cast and all proceeds are donated to Equality Now. Prizes will also be awarded to the best costumes based on Firefly, Serenity or the expanded Whedon-verse.
The evening will culminate in dinner and a screening of Serenity in the best way possible: with a room full of super-fans! The venue features a projection screen and multiple TVs throughout, so there are no bad seats.
