TJBS Presents The Great Albums Concert Series
Saturday, April 30 is the debut of a new series produced by the Tennessee Jazz & Blues Society.
The Great Albums Concert Series will present classic jazz and blues albums in their entirety, performed by top local artists.
The first concert will feature the classic 1961 Capitol Records release, "Nancy Wilson & Cannonball Adderley." The recording teamed the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, by then established jazz stars, with a young singer who had just moved to New York from Ohio, Nancy Wilson. The project is considered by most critics and fans to be one of the classic jazz albums.
The concert will be headlined by vocalist Dara Tucker, saxophonist Rahsaan Barber, and trumpeter George Tidwell. Joining them will be Kelli Cox (piano), Roger Spencer (bass), and Josh Hunt (drums).
APRIL 30 IS INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY -- COME CELEBRATE IT WITH US!
There will be two shows, 6 and 8:30 pm. Tickets for each show will be $20 for the general public, $15 for TJBS members, and $15 for high school and college students.
All seating will be reserved, and tickets will be available online beginning Monday, April 11. See seating chart below for seat locations.
The location is the Nashville Jazz Workshop's Jazz Cave. Members and friends of the TJBS, and all fans of good music, are invited to come out for an evening of great jazz.
