Rhythm Planet
Please join Angel City Chorale (ACC), now in its 23rd year, in concert this June for a stunning musical journey that traverses the globe!
The acclaimed Los Angeles choir, led by Artistic Director Sue Fink, will present Rhythm Planet, featuring the music of two-time Grammy-winning composer Christopher Tin and other world beats. A concert highlight will include ACC's version of Toto's "Africa," which has recently gone viral (over 2.6 million YouTube views). Pieces by Aaron Copland, Moses Hogan, and Eriks Esenvalds will also be performed.
With two special family-friendly evenings, Rhythm Planet celebrates both diversity as well as the humanity that unites us all. ACC's orchestra, ethnic percussion, and the grandeur of 150 voices will combine to create an exhilarating and joyous celebration of Earth's rich cultures and beauty. Special guest Christopher Tin will also conduct a portion of the concert.

Since its founding in 1993, Angel City Chorale has performed at a variety of venues from the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles to Carnegie Hall in New York, appeared on national television, sung with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Luther Vandross. The choir has also recorded four highly regarded albums.
Sue Fink, Founder and Artistic Director
Sue Fink is Angel City Chorale's founder, artistic director, and conductor. Her dynamic energy can be seen and felt in the unique spirit and spontaneity that distinguish this choir from other choral groups. Sue graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied conducting with Roger Wagner. Sue toured internationally as a member of the Roger Wagner Chorale, and went on to establish the Oriana Renaissance Ensemble and the Los Angeles Women's Community Chorus, serving as conductor for both groups prior to founding Angel City Chorale.
Mark McCormick, Principal Accompanist
Mark McCormick has traveled the world as an in-demand collaborative pianist, organist and music educator. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mark is currently a member of the music faculty at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, a 2014 GRAMMY Gold Signature School. He serves as accompanist and co-director to the award-winning choirs, instructs classes in music theory and composition and is the orchestra director for the annual spring musical. He is the recipient of the 2014 Sandacre Teacher of the Year award, an honor given to him by the student body.
