Belly Dance Off 2016 | Round 2
Now in its 6th year, Belly Dance Off comes to Hale's Palladium for Round 2! Enjoy a Sunday afternoon with craft beer and food as dancers appear in their best costumes and perform with live music chosen on the spot by MB Orchestra. Masters of belly dance and live entertainment give expert judge feedback. Audience and judges decide the winner!

Described as the American Idol of belly dance, Belly Dance Off is an educational touring talent show illuminating the secrets of dance improvisation in performance with live music. Touring the NW each year, Belly Dance Off takes place in three preliminary rounds, yielding three finalists in each category to compete in the annual Grand Championship for titles, trophies, ribbons, tiaras, cash, and other prizes. Dancing opens up to the audience at halftime, with a special prize for best shimmies!
As always, it is a spectacular interactive experience with lights, cameras, and lots of action! Through the feedback and voting process, the audience and dancers learn a great deal.
All ages are welcome. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase onsite concessions and beverages during the show, or access the next door Hale's Brewery for a full menu of fresh food, which service will deliver.
About the Director:
Suzanna is a cross-disciplinary dancer with training in Middle Eastern, African, jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, Latin, and hip hop, and a professional background in theatre. For the past 13 years while working as a belly dancer in hundreds of venues she has discovered much need for dialogue and education among dancers and audiences on this unique dance art form. In 2010 she launched Belly Dance Off, an interactive format designed to engage everyone.
