Mission Potluck ARBORG
Nuna (Now) the Iceland Canada Art Convergence presents One Trunk Theatre's Mission Potluck in Winnipeg, Riverton, Arborg and Gimli this spring.
Collaboratively written by Winnipeg darlings Anna-Laure Koop, Jacqueline Harding, Claire Therese and Andraea Sartison, the play is a true potluck of music, comedy, physical theatre and Manitoba history.
In the 1920s a motley crew of Lutheran Ladies started a fundraising campaign to build the first ever Seniors Home in Gimli, Manitoba. Lurlina- the outcast who works at the docks, Greta-a wealthy goth whose husbands mysteriously keep dying, Eleanor- a former opera singer turned farm wife, and Josephine- the town busy body, arrive in the church basement one afternoon to discuss a plan led by their intrepid leader Frances-Gimli's own suffragette. What follows is a series of shenanigans and songs that will have audiences from 18 to 80 rolling the the aisles laughing, and singing along.
Mission Potluck is a homegrown Manitoba sure to delight spectators and warm hearts with a side of vinatarta.
Proceeds from the Arborg performance go towards funding the building of the Arborg Care Home.
