Cooking with the Muse: Stephen Massimilla and Myra Kornfeld
Tupelo Press is proud to present award-winning poet-artist-scholar Stephen Massimilla and chef and graduate culinary nutrition instructor Myra Kornfeld to celebrate the launch of the their extraordinary new hardcover book. COOKING WITH THE MUSE: A Sumptuous Gathering of Seasonal Recipes, Culinary Poetry, and Literary Fare comprises a complete 150-recipe cookbook, 200 color photos, a wide-ranging anthology of culinary poetry, and a complete book of new poems and poetic prose pieces by the authors, as well as enlightening essays, lore, and notes on the poetry of food. Stephen Massimilla is a poet, scholar, professor, and painter. Acclaim for his books includes an SFASU Press Prize for The Plague Doctor in His Hull-Shaped Hat; the Bordighera/CUNY Poetry Prize for Forty Floors from Yesterday; the Grolier Poetry Prize for Later on Aiaia; and a Van Rensselaer award, selected by Kenneth Koch. His work has appeared in hundreds of publications. He holds an MFA and a PhD from Columbia University and teaches at Columbia University and The New School. Myra Kornfeld is a chef, educator, and the author of three previous cookbooks, The Healthy Hedonist, The Healthy Hedonist Holidays, and The Voluptuous Vegan. She teaches in the graduate nutrition program at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and at the Natural Gourmet Institute, and she is head chef for the website myfoodmyhealth.com.
