Albuquerque Folk Festival
The Albuquerque Folk Festival (AFF) is a unique folk festival with a focus on participation. It is held annually on the first Saturday of June. Each year, The abqfolkfest offers over 100 workshops (in folk singing, instruments, dancing and more), demonstrations, jams, exhibits, dances and performances, including four stages filled with diversity and depth from morning until night.
There are other opportunities for participation as well through a band scramble contest, sign up stage and sing-alongs, and many Jams and dances.
Workshops include folk instruction in folk music instruments, singing, dance, and storytelling, plus puppets and kids activities. In addition to national and regional talent, The Albuquerque Folk festival will present and showcase the fine folk-art diversity of our own community. We also have a bike valet..
The festival utilizes both indoor and outdoor spaces on their fenced grounds. The site offers beautiful views, road access from multiple directions, bike access via the bike trail, and on-site handicapped access. In addition, the air-conditioned museum building provides space for vendors, workshops, festival information, and a respite from the heat, all the while surrounded by music, dance, storytelling, other folk activities, and beautiful mountain and valley views.
A full schedule will be available on the website soon.
