GOLDEN BOY is the story of a city kid's meteoric rise to -- and precipitous fall from -- fame and fortune. As both a gifted violinist and the potential lightweight boxing champion, Joe Bonaparte faces a crucial decision between getting in the ring and possibly breaking his hands, or continuing to play music and ending up poor. Art or fame, heart or rage, old world values or the new world's glorification of success; there is no middle ground. Told with humor and philosophical wit, this story of a young man, the son of an immigrant, trying to establish his identity and achieve the American dream is as poignant today as it was when it was originally produced.

The Instigators are a troupe of young, dynamic actors who seek to create stories that both entertain and provoke audiences by embracing theater's potential as both an art form and a sport.
Presented in the thrust with a minimalist style, GOLDEN BOY immerses the audience into the world of the play through the actors' performances, illuminating the rich characters, biting humor and emotional rawness of the text.
