Musician Jim Dorman presents an evening of inventive songs; treating audiences to a one-of-a-kind concert packed with music and laughter.

Jim's melodic tunes captivate you, says the owner of the Portland Wine Bar.

Playing with rhythm, harmony, and story, Dormans music instantly captures the imagination; leaving listeners truly inspired.

Dorman's story is captivating in itself. The musician has a professional background as a juggler and lighting designer, but when two degenerative retinal disorders began to affect his vision at age 19, his sight began to steadily decline.  Read Jim's full bio here

Because of his vision-loss, Dorman turned to music, developing intuitive improvisation skills, a passion for imagination, and a true love of listening. His music is steeped in exploration and discovery; and this enthusiasm for creativity is contagious.

Now, Dorman has collected his music into A Musical Adventure, an evening-length performance; his first one-man show. Each song is an expertly-woven landscape of sound; overflowing with irresistible melodies, delicate harmonies, and unexpected twists. Listening, its easy to feel that anything is possible.

Listeners will get a sense of how amazing and fascinating the world is, says Dorman of the upcoming concert, Audiences will leave the show inspired, excited, ready for new adventures.

Dorman's style has hints of Leo Kottke and Andy Mckee, though his tunes have a striking originality that set them apart; at once imaginative, joyful, and mysterious. At the upcoming concert, audiences hear inventive tunes on a diverse selection of instruments; from harp guitar and baritone guitar, to 6 and 12 string guitars, and Japanese Koto.

This not-to-be-missed performance leaves listeners with a deep sense of well being and possibility; an evening of original music that keeps folks smiling, long after the night is over.
