150th Anniversary Emancipation Proclamation Concert
Civil War era, classical and opera music celebrating 150th Anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln drafting of preliminary Emancipation Proclamation. September 22nd concert date is the exact month/date of the historic drafting.
Scheduled performers include Metropolitan Opera Soprano Latonia Moore, Baritone Donnie Ray Albert (three Opera Grammy awards), Tenor George Shirley (Opera Grammy and 251 performances at Metropolitan Opera), Nokuthula Ngwenyama (renowned violist and President of American Viola Society), Sanford Allen (first African American regular member violinist of New York Philharmonic Orchestra), Soprano Jammieca Mott, Pianist Althea Waites, Pianist-Composer Richard Thompson, violinist Annelle Gregory, and pianist Polli Chambers-Salazar.
