JCC Chicago Jewish Film Festival - Hanna's Journey
Unexpected complications arise when a young German student, Hanna, decides to travel to Israel to give her resume an edge. She cynically explaining to her boyfriend, if you're German, "helping Jews always gets you points, and disabled Jews count double." The Israeli social worker supervising Hanna's volunteer work, Itay, cracks jokes on German history while openly flirting with her. At first she resistes his romantic attempts, but soon finds herself drawn to him.
In this multi-layered romantic comedy, award-winning cinematographer Daniela Knapp draws the audience into the beautiful landscape of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
