KEEPERS by David Cale and Dane Terry
KEEPERS is an ongoing collaborative performance project between David Cale and Dane Terry. The two performers weave their distinct voices together in original songs and stories about cages, hiding and holding on.
Dane Terry is an American composer, writer, performer, storyteller and theater-maker. He is the most recent recipient of the Ethyl Eichelberger award from PS122 and will also be a part of that organization's RAMP residency in spring 2016. His work has been seen at La Mama, Dixon Place, Pangea, Joes Pub, The Kitchen, St. Marks Church-in-the-Bowery and the Afterglow Theater Festival. His show Bird In The House will be presented at the Public Theater in January 2016 as part of the Under The Radar festival's INCOMING! series. www.daneterry.bandcamp.com
David Cale is the writer and performer of solo works including A Likely Story (The New Group), Lillian (Playwrights Horizons, Obie Award) and Deep in a Dream of You (Public Theater, Bessie Award). He wrote the book, lyrics, co-composed the music for and performed in Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky (Playwrights Horizons, Outer Critics Circle Nomination). He wrote the songs for 600 Highwaymen's Employee of the Year (2016 Under the Radar Festival, Bessie Nomination) and has written lyrics for songs sung by artists including Elvis Costello, Debbie Harry, John Kelly and Jimmy Scott. As an actor he appears in films including The Slaughter Rule, Two Lovers and Pollock and most recently was seen on TV in The Good Wife.
