The Chasse Galerie
Many moons ago, the good folks at The Red One Theatre Collective came up with the grand idea of bringing the famous French Canadian folk-tale La Chasse Galerie to life created by the members of the collective and featuring an original score by the enormously talented composer James Smith.
The story of The Chasse-Galerie is as old as the province of Quebec. In our version, four young Coureurs de Bois (Kat Letwin, Dana Puddicombe, Tess Benger and Shaina Silver-Baird) are trapped deep in the woods of Quebec on a very cold and lonesome New Year's Eve. Wishing they were back in Montreal to celebrate with their loved ones, they strike up a deal with the Devil himself, who promises to fly them back to Montreal in their Canoe for one night only on the condition they refrain from Blasphemy (All the choicest Quebecois swear words are Blasphemous!) If they break their promise, the Devil will take their souls. The heroes take the Devil's deal, but the Prince of Darkness is a wily customer. The winter nights are long and in the Chasse Galerie anything can happen.
Our final show lands on New Years Eve, so ticket prices will include entry to a 'frontier stock' celebration like nowhere else in the city!
