TODD & MITZY Benefit Reading
Join us for a reading of Todd & Mitzy, a new play by Michael Kimmel, directed by Molly Beach Murphy, featuring Kate Baldwin, Erin Dilly, Heather Dilly, Brandon Ellis, Gideon Glick, Sara Kapner, Drew McVety, Eric William Morris, Kacie Sheik and stage managed by Michelle Heller.

Proceeds from this performance will  benefit Healthy Birth Day & Count the Kicks, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting awareness for healthy births.

Todd and Mitzy are the perfect couple.. right? In Michael Kimmel's new piece, we see the cold reality of what happens after the meet cute.  From first date to marriage, kinky sex stories to the lows of infertility, Todd and Mitzy is a humorous and heartfelt exploration of the cost of commitment, and how perilous the road can be, even, and especially, for the perfect couple.

In 2009, five Iowa moms who all lost baby daughters within months of each other, launched Count The Kicks. Through their non-profit organization Healthy Birth Day, the women have created a network of supportive hospitals, doctors and advocates who are spreading the Count the Kicks message.  Prior to the development of Count the Kicks, the five founding women helped get Iowa's Stillbirth Registry law enacted and they now have Count the Kicks ambassadors in thirteen states. Count the Kicks has prevented unexpected birth complications and late-term stillbirths across the country.  Scientific studies indicate that tracking a baby's movements daily (kicks, rolls, punches, jabs) during the third trimester, is an easy, free and reliable way to monitor a baby's well-being in addition to regular prenatal visits. The message has gone global thanks to a new kick counting app found in the iTunes and Google Play online stores. The app can send text reminders so expectant moms are reminded to count kicks, it can track the movement of twins, it logs daily movement history, and is available in English and Spanish.  It's free, easy and can save babies.
