Principal Dancer Maykel Solas and Junna Ige of Ballet San Jose, who are Classical Ballet Instructors at Bayer Ballet Academy, will be performing along with Bayer Ballet's Youth Company and students.

Springtime Novelettes is comprised of diverse pieces from classical and neoclassical ballet. In it you will experience the explosive joy of European character dances, take a journey through an enchanted forest, meet characters from classical ballets and see demonstrations of the training that informs the art of ballet storytelling.

Our program includes an excerpt from The Little Humpback Horse (The Under the Sea scene), variations from Don Quixote, Paquita, The Talisman, Sleeping Beauty, Fairy Doll, Sylvia and more, as well as lively folk-inspired Russian, Moldavian and Italian; Tarentella, Neapolitan (character) dances. Children will especially enjoy Little Red Riding Hood, an original mini-story ballet with an unusual retelling of this classic fairy tale.

The world of ballet is diverse and capacious for both children's dreams and adult inspiration alike. Share our world and learn some of the secrets -- large and small -- of creating an experience of this fantastic classical ballet style!
