Event
ONCE in Barre: 1890-1930
Drawing on a recently unearthed archive of culinary heirlooms, we do cordially invite you to join us for an afternoon tea fit for a queen, which is why you should bring yer mum o'course!
The recipes we will be using to create this Mother's Day meal were found among the letters and diaries of the female members of the Rice family, of Barre MA. Primarily featuring desserts, for four decades the Rice sisters and cousins sent thoughtful messages to eachother, preserving the recipes they discovered, and creating a body of culinary family heirlooms.
The Culinary Heirloom Project (www.culinaryheirloomproject.com) invites you to consider your own culinary heirlooms and we will be arranging for you to share them with us, before, during and after this event.
Join us to support Transition House and the survival of culinary traditions
