Wild Yonder's Friendship Feast
For our next installment of Wild Yonder, we'll be hosting a full day of fun, adventure and community, complete with a family style Friendship Feast hosted on the beautiful grounds of the Stone Circle House Retreat Center in Mebane, NC.
Phoebe Lawless of Scratch Baking in Durham will will instruct campers in the art of pie-making in a hands-on workshop. And be sure to pack those old school tube socks because Nick Neptune of Good Times Assurance Co. will get everyone into the competitive spirit with camp games.
As always, there will be wilderness workshops, and an arts & crafts station for creating things like your custom marshmallow roasting stick or a friendship bracelet for your new camp bud. Kick your feet up with a snack and drink at anytime during the day at our sweet hammock village provided by ENO Hammocks of Asheville.
Our Camp Chef will be Joe Kwon, cellist for the Avett Brothers, and passionate & talented cook. He'll be stoking the embers all day long as he roasts a whole pig and Korean short ribs for our Family Style feast. Dinner beverages will be provided by Union Wine and Durham's own Ponysaurus Brewing.
Sing your heart out around the campfire, and get your hands sticky with the always delicious Wild Yonder s'mores (from the fine folks at Videri Chocolate Factory and Rose's Meat Market and Sweet Shop in Durham).
We would love to have everyone stay overnight with us! Camping is included in the cost of your ticket so if you're feeling adventurous, bring your tent and sleeping bag and set up camp.
We also have a limited number of cabins with beds, bathrooms and woodfire stoves. Those are available for an extra $20/person on a first come, first served basis. Please email info@wildyonder.org to reserve your space and arrange for payment for those.
We'll keep the late-night fun going with a night hike and stargazing. Then, wake up to a delicious local-vore breakfast bar with Slingshot Coffee and take some vital morning stretches led by Stella Cook of Anchor Studios.
In addition to the activities listed above, tickets include hip-packs full of essential supplies to survive the day, including Yeti tumblers provided by the awesome folks at Great Outdoor Provision Company.
