First Call Fundraising Gala with Trevor Linden and Youth Leaders
FIRST CALL FUNDRAISING GALA WITH TREVOR LINDEN AND YOUTH LEADERS We invite you to join First Call and Trevor Linden for an evening of celebrating young people and advocates working to improve our foster care system. We are thrilled to be partnering with the Vancouver Foundation's Fostering Change initiative and the Trevor Linden Foundation to highlight this important issue.
Our annual fundraising galas are an occasion to celebrate our child and youth advocacy as well as to raise much-needed funds to ensure we can continue to put BC's children and youth first.
We hope you can join us for an evening filled with good food, good company, and the voices of inspiring and resilient youth and a valued community leader.

What to Expect: Our Annual First Call Gala features a delicious Indian buffet dinner, a silent auction full of amazing gifts, services, tickets to arts events, getaways and more, a raffle for exciting prizes, time to mingle with old friends and new friends, and a chance to celebrate with Trevor Linden and youth leaders the young people and advocates working to improve our foster care system.
Date/Time: Thursday, February 11th, 5:30 pm 9 pm (Doors open, buffet dinner and silent auction begins at 5:30 pm, silent auction and buffet close and program begins at 7:15 pm.)
Location: Fraserview Hall, 8240 Fraser St @ Marine Drive, Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories
Tickets: $65 or $35 for those on a fixed income, reserved tables of 8 are $500.

A bit more information about individual and group table ticket options: Individual Tickets: You can purchase individual tickets by credit card for $65 or $35 for those on a fixed income. There is also an option to share a ticket if you can't make it but would like to support someone else's participation. Individual Tickets at Group Tables: If you want to purchase tickets individually to sit at a group table of 8, choose the "Individual (at a group table)" ticket option and indicate the name of the group table you will be sitting at when checking out in the "company/organization" field. Please ensure that all 8 of your group table members purchase a ticket to confirm your group table reservation. Group Table paid by Credit Card: Choose this option if you are purchasing a full table of 8 by Credit Card. You do not need to provide the names of your guests, they will check in at the event under your group/organization name, but make sure to put the name of your group in the "company/organisation" field when you are checking out. Please contact the office at 604-709-6962 or info@firstcallbc.org if you require an invoice. Group Table paid by Cheque: If you want to pay for a group table by cheque instead of credit card please choose the "Group Table of 8 (cheque)" ticket option for $0 to register for a table, and then send your cheque to us by mail or bring it with you to the event (made out to Vancity Community Foundation First Call). You do not need to provide the names of your guests, they will check in at the event under your group/organization name, but make sure to put the name of your group in the "company/organisation" field when you are checking out. Menu: A delicious (mild) Indian buffet and pop and chai are included with your ticket. There will also be a cash/credit card bar with wine and beer. There will be gluten-free and vegan/dairy-free dinner buffet options; however, we cannot guarantee that there was no cross-contamination.
Accessibility: The Fraserview Banquet Hall is fully wheelchair accessible. Please let us know when purchasing your ticket if you will require an accessible seat by answering the questionnaire at checkout. If you have any questions or require further specifications on accessibility we'd be happy to provide more information.
Parking: There is ample free parking in the lot beside the Fraserview Hall.
Transit: Fraserview Hall is a 7-minute bus ride from the Marine Drive Skytrain station (at Cambie) on the Canada Line.
Tax receipts: We can issue tax receipts for donations made at the event (please address cheques to Vancity Commmunity Foundation First Call). Unfortunately, due to the administrative cost we cannot issue tax receipts for a portion of event tickets.

TREVOR LINDEN & FOSTERING CHANGE
A professional hockey player originally from Alberta, Trevor Linden is one of Canada's most respected athletes. He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 1988 and during his 20 year career was recognized for his leadership, commitment, talent and character both on and off the ice. In 2014, Trevor returned to hockey and was named the Vancouver Canucks' President of Hockey Operations & Alternate Governor, NHL.
In addition to his many on-ice accomplishments, Trevor was named the recipient of the Order of British Columbia (2003) and the Order of Canada (2010). Trevor is also a partner in Club16/Trevor Linden Fitness. His dedication to the community continues through the projects of the Trevor Linden Foundation, supporting youth development programs that encourage young people to discover their strengths and realize their potential. He and his wife Cristina live in Vancouver and you can often find them cycling or on the slopes in Whistler and the Okanagan.
