Canções Profundas (Deep Songs): Concert + Portuguese Dinner
Canções Profundas (Deep Songs) is a new musical work by Seattle composer Steve Peters, tracing the journey of his Portuguese ancestors from the Azores islands to California in the late 19th century. Six musicians improvise within an evocative surround-sound mix of natural and human sounds recorded in the Azores. (More info on the project blog: http://spmrhouse.blogspot.com/)
Admission includes a full Portuguese buffet dinner: pork, chicken, fish, vegetable dish, salad, soup, bread, cheese, olives, dessert. (Portuguese wine and beer are available at extra cost.)
