WHAT IT'S ABOUT:
In the Texas ghost town of Calhoun, life is slow and quiet. But the same cannot be said for the country at large.
Vital Mechanics, the premiere robotics manufacturer, has issued a recall of Cohort 2 -- its most humanoid model. Robots are just fine when they work for us, but when they look like us? Feel like us? The dividing line between human and machine is hard to see, and that scares people.
In Calhoun, Irene, her sister Jennie, their friend Reg, and his brother Jon plan their futures in the face of tremendous danger and prejudice.
