2nd Bellevue World Taiko Festival / 2 Concerts, 1:30pm ~ & 6:30pm ~
The second " Bellevue World TAIKO Festival" will be held as the unforgettable outstanding music program again!
In October 2014, the very first Bellevue World Taiko Festival was made possible by the generous support of many sponsors. 1,200 people, not only from Seattle and Bellevue, but also from San Diego to the south and Vancouver to the north attended the festival. Both the main concerts and workshops tickets were sold out even it was the first challenge by the high expectations of the community to the program.
We believe, the second festival will produce more exciting and make your new year to brilliant one. Please come and enjoy this priceless concert!
** Artist information **
Main guest from japan : WARIKI "WARIKI" is formed by three talented performers: Akira Katogi, Shunsuke Kimura and Etsuro Ono for explore the possibility of transforming traditions such as ancient ceremonies and festival arts into a outstanding stage performing arts. They are world wide renowned Taiko/Japanese arts group. Mainly Taiko Drumming, their performances are made by Japanese Flute (Shinobue), Japanese Banjo (Tsugaru Shamisen) and Japanese artistic street performances also. http://www.wariki.jp/
Bellevue based professional Taiko Drummers : CHIKIRI "CHIKIRI" is formed by Ringtaro, his partner, Asako, Taiko & Tsugaru Shamisen player, and his son, Sohshun as permanent members. Ringtaro and Asako performed at EPCOT / Walt Disney World and co-founded the School of TAIKO which providing various Taiko Programs based in Seattle/Bellevue. Furthermore, Ringtaro performed 10 years with world renowned Taiko trouper " ONDEKOZA" with over 1,000 concerts in 26 countries including the Carnegie Hall, NYC. CHIKIRI is a butterfly joint used in woodworking. it holds two pieces of wood together. Our artist, Chikiri, is like this wood piece connecting people, artists and cultures from all over the world through music with a focus on Japanese Taiko Drumming. http://www.japancreativearts.com/artists/
West African rhythm by Gansango Music & Dance And more performers will be coming. You can enjoy the performance of each and also collaboration by them. It makes the new relationship beyond the border by different drums.

Japan Creative Arts has started to produce "The School of TAIKO" from in October of 2009 based in Seattle/Bellevue area with the purpose of spreading and sharing the rich and profound Japanese culture, starting with the Taiko, and promoting mutual understanding of cultures through music. Our Taiko School currently has about 100 students from age four to sixty.
They are holding the Bellevue World Taiko Festival for sharing high quality of Japanese Culture through guest performers from Japan / US and make a tight relationship in community. We hope that we can share an understanding that goes beyond words, and become one through music. The strength, elegance and sound of the Taiko that resonates in our hearts, serves as the core for this festival, and we hope that through the festival more and more people will have the opportunity deepen their interest in Japan.
