The Property Known as Garland

Santa Cruz Actors' Theatre is proud to announce the opening of "The Property Known As Garland", written by Billy Van Zandt and directed by Gerry Gerringer. Featured in the title role as Judy Garland is Irene Tsouprake Teegardin, who received rave reviews in the S.C. Actors' Theatre production of "Clean House" in 2009. The play takes place in the backstage dressing room just before Judy is to go onstage for her last live concert. In a hilarious and emotionally charged tirade Judy reveals much about her relationships with her family, her fellow stars at M-G-M, the decadent munchkins from "The Wizard of Oz" and, of course, the infamous Louie B. Mayer. It promises to be an exhilarating evening with one of the greatest and least understood entertainment icons of the the twentieth century.
"The Property Known As Garland" opens March 23rd and runs through April 8th. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $18 general and $15 for students and seniors. Performances are at Center Stage Theater, 1001 Center St., Santa Cruz.
