Cafe Spiaggia: Michael Solomonov Pop-Up Cookbook Dinner
WHAT: Cafe Spiaggia and Chef Tony Mantuano are excited to announce that they will host James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Solomonov, of Philadelphia's highly acclaimed Zahav, for a pop-up dinner at the restaurant to kick off his U.S. book tour on Tuesday, October 13. For one night only, the Cafe will feature a special four-course dinner inspired by dishes from Chef Solomonov's first-ever Israeli cuisine cookbook, Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking, prepared by the chef himself. Selections will include hummus and pita with salatim, crispy haloumi, fried cauliflower, fluke, kibbe naya, lamb shoulder, and new school konafi with labneh ice cream and tehina cookies.
Cafe Spiaggia will host a book signing in the Spiaggia lounge from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online; prices are $75 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), and include the four-course dinner with wine pairings from Cafe Spiaggia's sommelier, Rachael Lowe.
Aside from Zahav, Solomonov also heads a number of well-respected restaurants in Philadelphia, including Dizengoff, Percy Street Barbecue, Abe Fisher and Federal Donuts. Zahav: A world of Israeli Cooking officially goes on sale on October 6.
