Mother Clucker
The battle for the best fried chicken in Atlanta is about to heat up. Ron "The Angry Chef" Eyester is uniting Atlantans in the singular mission of celebrating this Southern staple with the first local festival dedicated to fried chicken the Mother Clucker Fried Chicken Festival.
On Saturday, March 31 from 2 to 6 p.m. Atlanta's chefs will fire up the fryers and present their best breaded work in a tented lot next to Rosebud in Morningside.
All of life's necessities, along with fried chicken, will be at the Mother Clucker Fried Chicken Festival: live music, bourbon and beer. Music from Julie Gribble and other artists will entertain attendees from 3 to 6 p.m.
Participating chefs include:
Asha Gomez, Cardamom Hill Jordan Wakefield, Meehan's Public House Suzanne Vizethann, The Hungry Peach Justin Keith, Food 101 The Fox Brothers, Fox Bros BBQ Matt Coggin, DBA Barbecue Matt Swickerath, Valenza Stephen Herman, Haven Terry Koval, Farm Burger Darrell Rice, Tavern 99 Todd Richards, Ritz Carlton Buckhead
Tickets to the Mother Clucker cost $35, which includes fried chicken tastings from participating chefs and two Jim Beam drinks or Sweetwater beers. Additional drinks are available for purchase as well as High Road Craft Ice Cream.
