God, I Hope I Get It!
More than a dozen of Chicago's celebrated music theatre artists present their best audition songs in this 90-minute concert, directed by veteran Marriott director and American Music Theatre Project Executive Director Dominic Missimi and produced as a one-night-only 60th Anniversary Benefit by the Sarah Siddons Society, with proceeds going to the Society's Scholarship Fund. The evening also will include interviews with the award-winning director David H. Bell, whose credits include more than 40 productions at the Marriott Theatre and Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
The performers will include Hollis Resnik ("Follies", "Mame"), Heidi Kettenring ("Funny Girl", "My Fair Lady"), Alene Robertson ("Gypsy", "Hello, Dolly"), Ross Lehman ("Hot Mikado", "The Producers"), Mary Ernster ("King and I", "Light in the Piazza") and many others. Accompaniment by Doug Peck.
The Sarah Siddons Society was founded in 1952 by prominent theatre loving Chicagoans. For more than 55 years, the Society has presented an award to the leading actors of Broadway and Hollywood. Since its inception, the Society has granted scholarships to outstanding theatre students, enabling them to further their education in fine arts at Northwestern University's School of Communication, The Theatre School of DePaul University and Columbia College Chicago.
