" Patriot" starring Sapphira Cristal with pianist Mara Rosenbloom
Sapphira will explore the emotional changes we, as American Patriots, experience when we take a long hard look at the state of our country. Sapphira, with her eclectic taste, large range, and many voices, will take you from the music of Schubert, to 70's Broadway Musical revue "Don't Bother me, I Can't cope", back to Negro Spirituals, Billie Holiday , Tina Turner, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder and Sam Smith! This fun and insightful show is full of songs that tell such a powerful story and captures the depth and seriousness of our situation along with the hope for a brighter day!
Sapphira, a classically trained composer and operatic singer with a 4 octave range has emerged as a sought after performance artist, active in New York City and Philadelphia with travels all around the Northeast. Sapphira is the reigning Miss Gay NY, Philadelphia's Miss Everything, a former Queen of Boston Pride, the Drag Queen in residence at the First Church of Sommerville UCC and was recently featured on Bravo TV's "Watch What Happens Live". In addition, she inspires and encourages the next generation through her appearances at Emerson College, Suffolk University as well as many youth camps, dance studios and high schools.
Sapphira spreads her message of love,understanding,patience and acceptance to all by partnering with charitable organizations to not only spread the word through her entertaining, inspiring and empowering performances, but to also raise funds for tangible change. A portion of the show's proceeds will be donated to the charity "Jay's House".
"There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down to lift someone else up", is Sapphira Cristà l's personal credo, and she has made it her mission to be an inspiration--uplifting and encouraging. those around her--wherever she goes.

Jay's House is committed to helping our adult queers to transition to permanent housing in a safe environment that is free of harassment and physical violence on the basis of sexual orientation and /or gender presentation.
