Nellie Olesons in Los Angeles
Celebrating their 20th Anniversary, The Nellie Olesons (Nora Burns, John Cantwell and Terrence Michael), will return to The Cavern Club Theater at Casita Del Campo with an all-new show, Evil Never Dies, September 25 October 4, 2015 (Fridays and Saturdays at 9:00 pm, Sundays at 7:00 pm). No show on Sunday September 27th.
The group has performed across the U.S. and Canada including NYC's LaMama, LA's Highways, and Montreal's "Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival. Their spirited blend of comedy, dance and audacious sensibility have earned kudos from The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Los Angeles Times, and Time Out New York, among others. They have also appeared in Legally Blonde, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Will & Grace & Logo's Wisecrack. The original Nellie Oleson, Alison Arngrim, has bestowed her blessing on her namesake trio, even appearing with the group on several occasions and calling them "my evil children."
Devoted Nellie fans will delight in the return of Junkie Jones, a crack-head illusionist, The Veeg Sisters, two flute-wielding wood-nymphs, and Love Connie, a hirsute vixen currently seen in the video for Alaska Thunderfvck's hit song "This Is My Hair."
The Nellies' return to the stage follows a five year hiatus, during which time they have pursued individual projects. Burns continues to perform on the East Coast with the comedy group Unitard and has written her second solo show David's Friend; Cantwell has created four original dance shows featuring his alter-ego, Love Connie, including Connie Loves Juice and Fade To Connie; and Michael's feature comedy The Girl With Something Extra, landed on the Black List, an annual survey of the most liked screenplays as selected by industry executives.
