Omar and Karina's mother suffers a stroke during the family trip to the beach. Left to their own devices, the siblings will start a long journey through Mexico to their grandmother's house on the other side of the country. Diverse characters, strangers on their own land, will be joining and leaving, in a labyrinthine road, until their final destination.

Las vacaciones en el sur de México abruptamente llegaron a su fin cuando la madre de Omar (15) y Karina (12) sufre un ataque al corazón. El padre se lleva a la madre de emergencia, y los chicos tienen que arreglárselas para llegar a la casa de la abuela en el norte de México. La aventura se desarrolla recorriendo cientos de kilómetros desde el sur. A lo largo del trayecto los hermanos se dan cuenta que habitan un México dividido, donde la desesperanza a dejado huellas indelebles en la mayoría de los personajes que se les cruzan en el camino.
