Hilltop's Institute Evening Discussion Series Presents:
Leading the Process of Change: Initiating and Sustaining Anti-Bias Early Childhood Programs
Thursday, March 31st
Facilitated by John Nimmo

We will explore the role of early childhood leaders in setting the stage for and sustaining an anti-bias approach. John will share a framework for the leader's role in working strategically with staff, families and the community. What is a strategic leader? How can conflict be a force for change? How can staff and families become allies for this work? Where do I start in making changes? John will draw on his recent book with Louise Derman-Sparks and Debbie LeeKeenan, Leading anti-bias early childhood programs, and is looking forward to engaging with ideas and reflections from local leaders.

John teaches for Wheelock College, and was previously director of the Child Study Center and associate professor at the University of New Hampshire. He is co-author of Leading Anti-Bias Early Childhood Programs, Loris Malaguzzi and the Teachers, and Emergent Curriculum. John's research focuses on children's participation in their community.
