Since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori entered as a member of the "Arte Fiorentina", the Winemakers' Guild of the city of Florence, the Antinori family has been involved in the production of wine that's over six centuries! Thorough twenty-six generations, the family has always directly managed the Marchesi Antinori, maintaining, unaltered, a fundamental respect for tradition and for the territory in which they have operated.
Catherine de Medici will bring the Antinori Wine Dinner to life as she interacts with guests and tells her stories of how she brought modern cuisine to the world. She's said to have taught the French how to eat with a fork, and introduced foods and dishes such as artichokes, cakes, cream puffs, custards, ices, parsley, pasta, puff pastry, quenelles, scallopine, sherbet, and truffles. Chef Billy Devlin and Andrea Marchesin will create a sophisticated dinner with a modern take on some of the great contributions Caterina de Medici brought to the history of international cuisine. Each course was created to be a perfect complement to Antinori's famous wines.
