COTTON PATCH GOSPEL
This award winning musical is based on the book "The Cotton Patch Version of Matthew and John" by Clarence Jordan.
Through comedy, drama and uplifting music, it presents the Gospel story with a modern-day southern twist: Jesus is born in rural Georgia, and Herod is a Georgia politician.
The production stars Ben Nordstrom, a favorite of St. Louis cabaret and theatre audiences at The Rep, The Muny, Stages and more. Eric Scott Anthony (musical director), Jonathan Brown, Nyssa Duchow and Kevin Kurth all play various roles and instruments, providing the contagious bluegrass backbone of the show, directed by Quin Gresham.
These songs are the final, and some say the best, work of Harry Chapin. Entertaining and inspiring, audiences tap their toes all the way home, and end up coming back for more!
General Admission seating is limited, so reserve tickets early! Tickets also available in person starting Sept. 1 at Manchester UMC during business hours and on Sunday mornings.
This show is a fundraiser for MUMC's Theatre Outreach Fund, providing workshops &/or theatre experiences for clients of Kingdom House in St. Louis, and more.
