"A SOUTHERN CHRISTMAS" AT BRAGGMITCHELL MANSION
The holiday season is right around the corner, and that means that it's time for the BraggMitchell Mansion's annual Christmas Open House fundraiser. This year, guests are invited to make their Christmas A Southern Christmas, and spend an afternoon at the historic antebellum mansion on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Christmas wreaths on the front door will welcome visitors to the BraggMitchell Mansion, dressed in the colors of the season. Christmas of the Old South will be on display throughout the Mansion. The foyer will be adorned with traditional holiday décor and its stunning circular staircase decorated with holiday greenery. The Christmas tree will stand as the centerpiece to even more seasonal decorations in the Double Parlors, inviting everyone to gather round to sing and listen to their favorite holiday songs. Homemade holiday treats will be served in the elegantly festive TurnoftheCentury Tearoom. Children can listen to their favorite Christmas story, while waiting to visit Santa, who will be on hand to make note of their wishlist. The Gift Shop, stocked with unique items, will be open for holiday shopping. Horsedrawn sleigh rides will be available for visitors to tour the Mansion's grounds. At A Southern Christmas, guests will be sure to feel the holiday spirit.
A Southern Christmas is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission for the open house is $8 for adults and $5 for children, ages 13 and under. All proceeds from the event help support the continued preservation of the BraggMitchell Mansion.
The historic Mansion will glow with holiday cheer throughout all of December for those who cannot attend the Open House.
