HAITI RISING: A benefit for Ayiti Resurrect
On Fete Gede, the night of Festival of the Ancestors (Haitian Day of the Dead), we will gather to honor those who passed in the earthquake and celebrate the resilience, survival and self-determination of our Haitian family.
An inspiring array of artists from coast to coast with bloodlines in the Haitian Diaspora across the globe are coming together to make a powerful offering to Spirit, and to support AYITI RESURRECT: a global delegation of visionary artists, community builders, and holistic healers going to Haiti in January to continue a collaboration with local Haitian organizations to support psychological and spiritual healing for quake survivors.
Come with us and experience a beautiful new venue in Richmond, a post-industrial temple filled with magical sculptures and creative sanctuary!!! We will be drunk on the synergy of poetry choreographed to movement, medicine distilled from song, music carved from the hollow spaces transformation creates in our lives!

"There is a brokenness out of which comes the unbroken. There is a shatteredness out of which blooms the unshatterable....There is a hollow space too vast for words through which we pass with each loss, out of whose darkness we are sanctioned into being." - RASHNI
